Mr. Roberts' education includes Harvard Law School and the Ohio State University. Mr. Roberts' academic awards also include three awards for being the "Best Oralist" in his trial practice class, and he received an invitation to his law school's National Trial Team.
After receiving his law degree in 1978, Mr. Roberts was awarded a prestigious law clerk position with the Supreme Court of Ohio. Mr. Roberts then accepted a position as an investigative and trial lawyer for the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C. As a congressional attorney, he was chosen to be a member of the trial team in a nationwide class action lawsuit which settled for $3,200,000.00 after an eight week trial. Mr. Roberts received numerous awards while serving as a Congressional trial attorney, including the honor of being chosen to serve on the Board of Directors of the Younger Lawyers Section of the Federal Bar Association, and was a member of the Editorial Board of the Federal Bar Association's Journal.
