Kate Van Hooser joined the firm in March of 2011 after practicing with an elder and family law firm in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Ms. Van Hooser received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Health Law from St. Louis University School of Law in Missouri.
While at SLU, Ms. Van Hooser served on the Moot Court Advisory Board and as a teaching assistant to Professor Paige Canfield for Moot Court Courses. She was the Justice of the John J. Sullivan Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
During law school, Ms. Van Hooser interned for a major Health Insurance Company, the Business Ethics Office of Lockheed Martin, Washington Hospital Center's Center for Ethics, and the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.
Ms. Van Hooser's regular practice focuses on Family Law, Elder Law, and Personal Injury Litigation. In addition to her regular practice, Ms. Van Hooser is a certified Guardian Ad Litem for Children, as well as for Incapacitated Adults.
Ms. Van Hooser is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Fredericksburg Bar Association, and the Prince William Bar County Bar Association.
